On Turning
“The evening was calm and a cool breeze spread throughout the temple from open windows and promenades. Two Jedi Masters roamed leisurely about the grounds and chatted mindlessly about the goings-on of the order and the galaxy. Not a trouble plagued either of them that night.
They decided to head down to the library and check on a reference to an ancient Master. The name was unimportant, for what happens in this library is the key. As they departed the repulsorlift that day, they noted four Dark Jedi sifting through the records of the Library.
Both masters surged forward – one with his lightsaber instantly ignited, and one still in his drooping robes with no weapon but the Force. The master with the lightsaber took on three of the Dark Jedi, competing with them in melee combat and quickly disposing of two of the enemy. It took the rest of the time of this story to subdue the other.
The second master took to a small chase-like combat with the fourth dark one, dodging in and out of bookshelves and furniture. As the dark one attacked with his saber, the master thwarted with Force push and Force walls. They chased for several minutes in this form of combat until the master was able to disarm the Dark Jedi and throw him to the ground with his mental will.
The master could have killed him with the Force, or he could have trapped him in a cage. But the master sensed something in the curly-haired man – light. The master immediately placed his hand on the dark figure’s chest and lifted one hand above him in the air. As he began to chant, both hands glowed green and the Dark Jedi’s eyes rolled back into his head going deep into a trance.
“Come to the light, for it is your true path.
There is no anger, there is only peace.
The darkness evades, for it is your past.
There is no ignorance, there is only knowledge.
Fear not your future, for the light welcomes you.
There is no passion, there is only serenity.
You shant take power from others, for your power lies within.
There is no death, there is only the Force.
The will of the Force commands you into the light.
And so it shall be done! ”

It is uncertain what happened to the master or the dark one, as this was a dream I had one evening. It was so vivid and real that I almost thought it had happened the day before. But now I realize that it was a vision, a glimpse of what is to come and what must be done.
Never before have I discovered the truth regarding the turning of Dark Jedi into Jedi of the Light. I have long been a believer that once a person goes dark, they never can return. In my age, I have seen this refuted several times. I was always skeptical of Master Skywalker, but as I study him more, I realize he turned himself into a True Jedi beyond doubt.
The turning of a Dark Jedi is obviously not trivial. And usually, there is a ceremony of sorts, followed by the long-term efforts of masters, knights, and learners alike to welcome the person into the Jedi path and guide them through their new lives. Often times, a Jedi will die in the effort to turn a dark one.
But in my dream, while I did not know the fate of the two, I somehow knew that they both would survive and continue to be Jedi. The turning had worked. In the heat of the attack, the Dark Jedi knew his fate was not to kill the two Jedi Masters but to join them. Was it a last resort in order to evade death? Perhaps partially. But the dream revealed that the Dark Jedi recognized, at the very onset of the miracle, that the master was his rightful path.
I share my dream in the hopes that those who follow me shall know that all can and will be done – even turning a powerful Dark Jedi – through the light of the Force.
